Stevie Hawtin

I studied fine art at Sir John Cass and printmaking at the Slade. My subjects are mainly the human figure and the natural landscape – be it trees, rocks or topography.

I have experimented with several types of printmaking and found collagraphs particularly satisfying.

I incorporate printmaking techniques in my paintings by building up layers using different kinds of material and scraping or rubbing these away to provide texture and detail.
